Market Place Cafe is a casual restaurant concept that evokes the images of a contemporary European marketplace. Our customer takes a journey through signature menu selections including sandwiches, soups, pizza, Panini, fresh salads and deserts.
The restaurant provides quick, friendly and attentive service in a warm and relaxed atmosphere while emphasizing quality, value, freshness and presentation.
The display kitchen provides a stage for our chefs to prepare fresh salads, pasta, house made desserts and kids café selections. Signature dishes include brick oven pizzas and unique sandwiches that are bold in flavor and classic in design.
The Nordstrom cafe carries on the happy tradition of department-store dining, which used to be more vibrant in Chicago than it is now. The cafe is an agreeable place to lunch or get an early dinner, whether you are shopping or have some other excuse to be in the area.
It is more inviting than Eataly by far, offering consistently tasty food in a spacious, relatively tranquil environment. It skews slightly female, and I particularly like seeing the matrons and intergenerational family groups who stop in for a bite when they are shopping.
Nordstrom cafe is such a hidden gem. You wouldn’t expect to get pretty good quality food from a department store, unless you’re in Korea or something lol but seriously this place has some great cafe foods.
I’ve tried the pastas and salads and sandwiches and they’re usually all super good. But i always always come out of my way to get the kids grilled cheese tomato combo for $7.
It may seem strange but it’s soooooo bomb. It comes with a drink and a side, i usually get a side of chips. And the drink is refillable!
I also really like their arugula and shrimp salad. It’s veryyy large though but i guess that’s a good thing for most people! Either way I really enjoy coming here for a quick bite.
